“Too much good music to be hell.  Too much pain to be heaven.  Where am I?”

March 6, 2006

Victim was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, NYC, after being mugged & shot in back by a rival DJ crew.  Victim was knocked unconscious by impact of bullet & fell onto the subway tracks.  Bullet passed through his laptop computer and into his back. Victim has burn marks on his ears and face caused when his headphones came in contact with the subway tracks.

After further examination, the bullet has lodged itself into his spine.  Removing it may cause further damage to his nervous system.

March 15, 2006
After extensive surgery, the bullet and fragments of the computer have been removed from his back, although there may be some residue remaining.

After several months of observation, victim is complaining of hallucinations.  He is hearing voices, music in particular.  He also complains of seeing pages of text, photos & some youtube uploads.

It has been a little over a year now and some very strange findings have arisen. It seems as though the electronics of Vinny’s computer have fused with the nerves of his spinal column.  In other words, his hallucinations are real.  In addition, when Vinny’s headphones came in contact with the subway tracks, his brain was “fried” giving him an extremely acute sense of hearing.

Vincent has been under careful observation since the incident, over 2 1/2 years ago.  Vincent is nothing less than a medical and musical phenomenon.  The combination of Vincent’s injuries have allowed him to play all his music by using only two records (Similar to Serato or Traktor DJ Setup).  Essentially, the information in Vincent’s brain is combining with the electrical charge from his fingertips and being translated through the records.

I don’t see Vincent as often as I used to.  I know Vinny’s still out there because occasionally I’ll hear of a strange disturbance in night club, or a record store will anonymously receive several boxes of rare vinyl.   I’ll keep you posted.  When I know, then you’ll know.  For now here’s some note’s he’s sent to me.

“goin’ through my mind”

“so many suckas, so little time”

“yeah, i got yur 45, right here”

“i got the cuts to move yo’ butts”

vinny’s last day of spinal shots & scans

clap, clap, snap, snap

he still goes out once in a while

for a little late night target practice
